Lead Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
What does Maintenance contribute to Cardinal Health? Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance schedule. Ability to interpret technical writing and procedures. Ability to read engineering drawings. Ability to use a personal computer equipped with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ensure proper set-up of production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications at the completion of assigned tasks. Adhere to plant policies/procedures, department EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO 9002 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures. Shall operate in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors and operate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects the environment. Complete all paperwork pertaining to the finished product and Maximo system being produced according to established guidelines in the manufacturing procedures. Prepare and maintain required maintenance equipment records. Maintain and order repair parts as required. Report any unusual or unacceptable circumstances to supervisor. Responsible for the observation of department regulations and to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tag-out trained. Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas as needed. Complete Annual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training. Crosstrain and support where needed throughout the facility. Coordinate and perform unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications on manufacturing equipment as needed and document changes as required by operating procedures. Assist in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and provide instruction to other technical personnel during maintenance or repair. Provide technical assistance as requested and arrange for technical support if necessary to complete repairs. Provide support for projects, production improvements and other authorized groups as assigned by supervisor/superintendent. Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting abilities, with a working knowledge of electrical controls, motors and feedback components, Assist in the training of Set-ups and Maintenance Technicians on departmental procedures, production equipment and safety. Assist departmental personnel in monitoring the performance of equipment and personnel. Assist in ensuring product quality and quantity goals of assigned areas. Promote production and scrap reduction through timely response to equipment failures and innovation in documented design changes. Analyze product defects utilizing calipers, micrometers or gages and initiate corrective action with supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or department manager. Responsible for maintenance operations in the absence of the maintenance/manufacturing supervisor. Shift Details - 11:00 pm to 7:00 am - Monday through Friday

Qualifications Two-year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferred. 8-10 years medical device manufacturing related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to calculate rate and percent and interpret basic graphs. Basic Metrology knowledge. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to make rational decisions in the absence of supervision. Must be proficient in the use of small hand tools and electrical hand tools. Must be proficient with necessary measuring equipment (Dial calipers, micrometers, gages, et.) Must be able to read blueprints and schematics. Must have the ability to accept and work with constant change. Must be a team player.
